Deeni Circle App Child Safety Standards Policy
Effective Date: September 2, 2025
1. Introduction and Purpose
The Deeni Circle App is committed to providing a safe, positive, and secure online environment for all users, especially children and young people. This policy outlines our standards and procedures for protecting children from harm, abuse, and exploitation on our platform. We are dedicated to creating a space where users can learn and connect with confidence and peace of mind.
This policy applies to all users, staff, volunteers, and content on the Deeni Circle App.
2. Key Principles
Our approach to child safety is guided by these core principles:
Zero Tolerance: We have a zero-tolerance policy for child abuse and exploitation, including all forms of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) and behaviors like grooming and cyberbullying.
Protection by Design: We strive to integrate child safety measures into the app’s design from the very beginning, making it safe by default for all users.
Empowerment: We aim to empower parents, guardians, and children themselves with the tools and knowledge to use the app safely.
Collaboration: We commit to working with relevant authorities, child safety organizations, and the wider community to address child safety concerns effectively.
3. Age Verification and Parental Consent
The Deeni Circle App is intended for users of all ages. However, to ensure compliance with laws like the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we have implemented the following procedures:
Age Gating: All users are required to provide their age upon registration.
Parental Consent: For any user who indicates they are under the age of 13, we require verifiable parental consent before allowing them to access features that involve personal data collection or public interaction. This may include a consent form or an email confirmation process.
Limited Functionality for Minors: Users under the age of 13 will have restricted access to certain features, such as public chat forums or direct messaging with unverified users.
4. Content Moderation
We employ a combination of automated and human moderation to ensure all content on the platform is appropriate and safe.
Prohibited Content: We strictly prohibit any content that depicts, encourages, or facilitates child abuse or exploitation, violence, self-harm, hate speech, or sexually explicit material.
User-Generated Content (UGC): All UGC, including profile pictures, comments, and posts, is subject to review. We use filtering tools to automatically flag and remove inappropriate content.
Reporting Mechanism: The app provides an easily accessible and intuitive in-app mechanism for users to report any concerning content or behavior.
5. User Interaction and Communication
Direct Messaging: We implement strict controls on direct messaging. Minors will not be able to receive messages from unverified accounts.
Public Forums and Groups: Public forums are moderated to prevent inappropriate interactions. We encourage users to use private groups with trusted family members or friends.
User Information: We strongly advise users, especially minors, not to share any personal identifying information, such as their full name, school, home address, or phone number, in public or private chats.
6. Data Privacy and Security
We take the privacy of our users, especially children, very seriously.
Data Minimization: We only collect personal information that is absolutely necessary for the functioning of the app.
Secure Storage: All personal data is stored securely using encryption and access controls.
No Third-Party Sharing: We do not share children’s personal data with third-party advertisers or data brokers. Any sharing with essential service providers will be done with strict confidentiality agreements.
Right to Deletion: Parents or guardians have the right to review and request the deletion of their child’s personal data at any time.
7. Reporting and Enforcement
In-App Reporting: Any user can report a concern or violation through the in-app reporting tool.
Review and Action: Our dedicated safety team will review all reports and take swift, appropriate action, which may include content removal, user warnings, account suspension, or permanent banning.
Legal Reporting: We will immediately report all instances of CSAM or other illegal content to the appropriate law enforcement agencies and child protection organizations.
8. Staff and Volunteer Training
All staff and volunteers who interact with the Deeni Circle App and its users will receive mandatory training on child safety standards, content moderation best practices, and our reporting procedures.
9. Policy Review
This policy will be reviewed and updated annually, or as required by changes in technology, user needs, or relevant laws and regulations, to ensure its continued effectiveness.
